Overview

Bhubaneswar Me is a Smart City initiative, providing a single secure portal that acts as a window to the various services which is beneficial not only to the government of Odisha but also to the citizens of Bhubaneswar.

It provided services like City Wifi, Public Transport, Post Grievances, Visit Bhubaneswar, Citizen Services, City Events, Public Amenities, Emergency Alert, Smart Card.

Problem

Before this the citizens did not had any app which would allow them to avail all the services in a single application.

 

Some services were manual and for some they had to visit the site separately. People were unaware of the nearby events that were happening. They were separate sites for each services so user had to login separately which was not a good experience.

Solution

I surveyed around 1000 users knowing their requirement in a closer manner. Also I discussed with the business regarding their needs. After hearing from both sides I mapped out all the problems that people are facing and provided solutions based on that. Creating personas, journey maps helped me to better understand their needs and pain points.

I sat down with the stakeholders, had discussion knowing their vision and goal. What are the services that they want to offer. After knowing the business requirement I conducted online surveys for around 1000 users, asking them about various services, knowing their pain points and getting their feedback. It helped to ideate solutions.

Affinity Diagram

After collating the feedback from our users, we were able to synthesise our findings using affinity mapping. We observed several patterns and were able to group our findings into similar categories. Among the groups of data collected, we noticed users’ behavior played a pivotal role in our research. We were able to coordinate the findings and define the problem statement.

Problem Statement

To create an app as a smart solution to all problems of the city. The key features should :
